Growing Circular Culture: Creative Practices for Local Change

Kurzbeschreibung

This workshop offers practical tools to embed circular economy principles in everyday urban life. Moving beyond technical fixes, we explore how innovation, resilience, and exnovation foster a locally rooted circular culture.

Beschreibung

The workshop aims to provide practical, tested, and transferable approaches for fostering a locally rooted circular culture. Building on the experiences and insights of the Creative Circular Cities project, it demonstrates how circular economy principles can be successfully embedded in everyday urban life through creative, participatory, and community-based practices.

The workshop explores circular culture at the intersection of innovation (new practices and formats), resilience (strengthening local capacities and relationships), and exnovation (letting go of unsustainable habits, structures, and narratives).
Participants will explore how circularity can move beyond technical solutions and become a shared cultural practice—one that is accessible, enjoyable, and easy to replicate in different local contexts. By combining critical social analysis with creative and inspiring solutions, the workshop highlights approaches that connect sustainability with fun, creativity, and collective action.

The goal is to empower participants with concrete tools, socially-critical thinking on sustainability, inspiration, and real-world examples that enable them to initiate or strengthen circular initiatives in their own communities, while fostering collaboration between civil society, creative actors, and local stakeholders
