Invisible University for Ukraine / Central European University

The Cen­tral Euro­pean Uni­ver­si­ty (CEU), foun­ded in 1991, is a pri­va­te uni­ver­si­ty addres­sing glo­bal chal­lenges through inter­di­sci­pli­na­ry edu­ca­ti­on and rese­arch. Initi­al­ly based in Pra­gue and Buda­pest, CEU relo­ca­ted all tea­ching acti­vi­ties to Vien­na in 2019, with some rese­arch and civic enga­ge­ment acti­vi­ties also ope­ra­ting in Buda­pest. CEU pro­mo­tes cross‑disciplinary col­la­bo­ra­ti­on on issues such as cli­ma­te chan­ge, human rights, data pri­va­cy, and media free­dom, fos­te­ring cri­ti­cal thin­king and inno­va­ti­ve solu­ti­ons. Through poli­cy labs, NGO enga­ge­ment, and intern­ships, CEU inte­gra­tes real‑world expe­ri­ence into its pro­grams. Ser­ving around 1,500 stu­dents from over 100 count­ries and 200 facul­ty, CEU exem­pli­fies soci­al­ly respon­si­ble hig­her edu­ca­ti­on com­mit­ted to a just, sus­tainable, and inclu­si­ve world.
